‘Over Land & Sea’ follows Arsenal fan Wayne Busbridge in the build up to The Europa League Cup Final 2019 in Azerbaijan, as we see him reflect on his life, being blind and his place in a world which he can no longer see. As no assistance or assurances could be provided for disabled supporters traveling from the UK, no disabled fans made the journey. That is, except for Wayne, who felt duty bound to support his club - as he has done in every match for the last three decades - in an environment unsuitable and unprepared for his needs. As Wayne experiences a completely new country without sight, we see that football is a way into the wider world: both a point of comfort and a frame of reference that gives him the confidence to explore the unknown. Football is the only place where he has never felt like his blindness sets him apart.
